...some of the purest Dolcetto I’ve had the chance to taste

@markokovac: Half a day at Tenuta Grillo with Igiea & Guido, tasting throughout the portfolio of their beautiful wines. The idea at the farm is for the wines to be made to age, so, sorry, but no glou glou here. At least not in its modern context. Rather, the wines are clean, mature, grown up. Structured, pure and super fun to be with (like the best mature humans, really). They burst with energy, ready to come into their prime & do the job - reflect the two terroirs this family owns. One-that of Piemonte, across Cortese, Barbera, Freisa & Dolcetto. Second-that of Campania (Guido’s birthplace), with Fiano. My favourites are the lovely Mediterranean-sun driven Montemattina Fiano 2015, the linear-yet-elegant-minerality-driven Baccabianca 2010, as well as some of the purest Dolcetto I’ve had the chance to taste
thanks Marko
